What is EBlink’s core technology?
Our patented technology consists of a wireless fronthaul link between the base station radio equipment and its related network antennas. Available for 2G, 3G and 4G operating frequencies, our systems can be used to upgrade existing sites as well as for new installations. They provide mobile operators with a more practical and higher-performing solution for all types of base station sites. They also offer greater deployment flexibility and cost savings, while ensuring a better integration of equipment into base station surroundings.
What is remote radio head?
RRH is a fundamental element of new cell site deployment that enhances network performance in terms of capacity, coverage and energy consumption. Modern base stations consist of two parts, the base band unit (BBU) and remote radio head (RRH). They are connected by optical fiber and communicate via industry-standard interfaces such as CIPRI, OBSAI or ORI. Remote radio heads enable a greater physical distance between the base station and the antennas, which greatly improves deployment flexibility.
What is Wireless Remote Radio HeadTM?
E-Blink’s Wireless RRHTM uses a revolutionary wireless fronthaul system that eliminates the need for coaxial cables or fiber optics to connect the base station to the network antenna. It takes the advantages of remote radio head technology a big step further through a radio link. For example, the coaxial cables typically installed between antennas and their radio equipment on base stations pose significant limitations to the growth and upgrade of networks because of their impact on buildings and structures. Installing cables and fiber not only limits the evolution of existing sites, but also rules out many potential new sites.
What is fronthaul?
The fronthaul links a base station’s main unit and the remote RF units, as opposed to the backhaul, which connects the base station and the core network. EBlink’s patented technology is the only available wireless fronthaul solution in the market.
What are the benefits of EBlink’s wireless fronthaul solutions?
As data traffic continues to increase, the basic laws of RF engineering state that more cells and smaller cells will be required. From planning to deployment, our solutions provide flexibility that enables operators to tailor the cell sites to their needs and to the sites’ physical and logistical features or requirements. This significantly increases the number of potential sites, saves times and accelerates ROI.
What types of installations are EBlink’s solutions suited for?
Our solutions are applicable to virtually any installation, including light poles, water towers, rooftops and terraces, pylons and masts, movable platforms and temporary or test installations. Roof-top installations require no cable trays that must be secured to the surface. Our solutions also can be fitted to an existing installation or free-standing composite-base structures.
How much do EBlink’s solutions save vs. a cable installation?
The cost savings provided by EBlink’s solutions vary from site to site and are directly related to the complexity of the site. But the more complex the site, the greater the savings. Installing coax or fiber cable often requires expensive construction, particularly in suburban and urban areas. The cost of our solutions is the same wherever the site is located. In addition, the EBlink solution allows the site to be deployed faster than cable, and time has become a key consideration for the network operator. In all stages, from planning through negotiation, installation and construction, EBlink’s solutions save time and cuts costs that are often hidden and underestimated. Our solutions also give operators flexibility in design and deployment that are unavailable with cable, while meeting the requirements of landlords and local authorities in terms of urban integration.
Do EBlink’s systems support multi-sector site configuration?
Yes, they are suitable for single-sector, bi-sector and tri-sector sites.
Are EBlink’s products compliant with government requirements?
Yes, our products meet CE and FCC standards.
What have analysts said about EBlink?
“EBlink’s Wireless RRHTM stands out in terms of product performance, market readiness and record of successful deployments. It is a highly scalable and flexible solution, which enables mobile operators to smoothly expand their network coverage and capacity. In terms of QoS, EBlink’s Wireless RRHTM performs just as well as traditional fiber RRH. The solution is field proven and has demonstrated radio KPIs similar to fiber RRH. Compared to traditional mobile backhaul solutions, EBlink’s Wireless RRH has an outstanding performance, since it isn’t subject to the capacity limitation of digital microwave transmission.”
